Mig makes everyday object using reclaimed domestic wood, ceramic, natural fibers, and more. Mig’s work honors the natural and imperfect aspects of his mediums. he often highlights these imperfections in order to reflect on oneself and their relation to the world. His work is intended to be used, loved, and passed on until the object has given all it can. He believes it is imperative to not cherish these items, but instead to impart memories through their utility in order to give the object meaning in place and time. They are meant to be used, to develop character, to warp, scar, discolor, and wear. Only then should they become “precious”.
